Researchers find shot is easier for male birth control than condoms
Researchers working on a male contraceptive have found another way to deliver success – a shot that lowers sperm count temporarily.
The shot had some side effects, but three-quarters of the men who participated in a European study said they’d be interested in continuing to use the birth control technique.
However, the precise combination of hormones clearly needs to be explored to lessen the psychological side effects of this birth-control approach, said study author Mario Philip Reyes Festin of the World Health Organization
“More research is needed to advance this concept to the point that it can be made widely available to men as a method of contraception,” he said.
The side effects also need to research more. But condoms also the best choice prevent pregnancy and disease transmission infections. And more and more types of condoms be researched and developed.
